Welcome, Japan!

Welcome, Japan!

I’m very excited to welcome all of you Japaneese readers to my website!

Although my pages are mostly in Norwegian (with a few lines here and there in English), I really hope that you will take a look around – and enjoy the designs displayed!

These knitted Norwegian hearts are the first of my designs for MRS  magazine.
I’m really honored to be working for the largest women’s magazine in Japan.

These designs are published in the December issue, which is due for sale now.
The hearts are knitted in Finull from Rauma Ullvarefabrikk,
and the patterns are based on hearts from my book Knit your heart out

Enjoy your visit on my website!

Velkommen, Japan!

I love your book “knit your heart out”. However, I am having trouble with the bottom (beginning stitches) of the heart. It just doesn’t come out right. Do you have any suggestions to help me? I know its fiddley as you put it, but, there must be a trick to work it easier?..I hope.

    Thanks, I appreciate your designs.

From your comment I presume that the challenge is having a few amount of stitches spread on four needles.
My best advice would be using fewer needles. Put half of the stiches on one needle, and the rest of them on a second. Use a third to knit.
This will make the start easier. When getting a larger amount of stitches, you can add needles.
As this is adviced in the book, you might already have tried it out?
If you still struggle, you might start off knitting back and forth on one needle. And then, when getting a more manageable amount of stitches, you can start knitting on the round.
Later on you’ll need to close the gap using needle and thread.
Hope this makes your heart knitting easier.
